There is always a market going on in Karlsruhe: some markets in the city districts only sell goods on certain days, while other convene every day. You can get fresh fruit and vegetables or cheese and sausage specialties three days a week in the weekly markets behind the Postgalerie, on Werderplatz or Gutenbergplatz. Fresh flowers are available daily in the flower market on Friedrichsplatz and every Wednesday sees the farmer's market in Durlach at the Saumarkt.
Sewing enthusiasts will be captivated by the Dutch textile market, which takes place twice a year on Stephansplatz. The latest fabrics for sewing are presented at over 140 Dutch stands.
Nordic flair runs through the city every year from the end of April, when the Hamburg fish market makes a guest appearance in Karlsruhe. Experience a loud and lively spectacle as "Aal Hinnerk", "Bananen Fred" and Co. reel in the buyers.
