Getting to Karlsruhe by car is possible from every direction. Three major German transport links cross the fan-shaped city with the A5, A8 and A65. Several federal highways also lead to Karlsruhe. You also have greater flexibility and mobility for excursions into the Karlsruhe region if you travel by car.
Arriving via the A5 & A8
If arriving via the A5 (Frankfurt-Karlsruhe-Basel) or A8 (Munich-Stuttgart-Karlsruhe), leave the Autobahn at the "Karlsruhe-Mitte" exit. This exit brings you onto the Südtangente/B10 towards the city.
Arriving via the A65
The A65 (Ludwigshafen-Landau-Wörth am Rhein) terminates shortly before the Wörther Kreuz and then merges into the Südtangente/B10 towards Karlsruhe.
|Environmental zone||Driving restrictions are in force in the Karlsruhe environmental zone, which also now applies to vehicles in the emissions group 2 and 3 (red and yellow sticker) since 1 January, 2012. Only vehicles with a green sticker may enter the Karlsruhe environmental zone.|
